Southbend 1188788 Combo Standing Pilot Valve

The Southbend 1188788 Combo Standing Pilot Valve controls the supply of gas to the light and main burner by a mechanical, thermal-sensitive part. An internal electromagnet keeps the valve open when the pilot flame warms up a connected thermocouple to permit a constant flow of gas to pass through the ignition. It is mounted on the main gas manifold line and is usually at the back of the front control panel or at the bottom of the system cavity. It combines the safety shut-off and the main burner control into a unitary containment to control heating cycles of the appliance.
