The Southbend 1172185 Burner 24 x 7-1/4 steel combines gas and air and spreads the ignited mixture through the ports of the burner to make a flame where the control system requires heat. The pattern of the flame as gas passes through the burner openings and combustion takes place provides heat to the cooking surface above. It is installed beneath the grates or cooking surface of compatible commercial ranges, broilers, or ovens, and aligned to the gas manifold and fixed into position.
