Description

The Garland G01754-24 24" Thermocouple is a flame sensor designed to be used in commercial gas cooking appliances to check on pilot operation. It is mounted next to the pilot assembly and it reacts to heat and generates a millivolt signal which keeps the gas valve open. This is a thermocouple that is very common in ovens and ranges among other appliances that demand constant attention to the flame. The signal is stopped when the pilot is out and the flow of gas is stopped. The thermocouple is an element of the safety control system.

Step1: Ensure the gas supply is shut off and the appliance is completely cool.

Step2: Remove the access panel to reach the existing thermocouple assembly.

Step3: Disconnect the old thermocouple from the gas valve and retaining bracket.

Step4: Remove the old thermocouple from its mounting position.

Step5: Install the new snap-fit thermocouple and reconnect it to the gas valve securely.

Step6: Restore the gas supply and test the pilot flame and safety control operation.
